Well I am back to blog before going back to mug again. Well nothing much about me though….. erm….. Let’s see ok I was down with fever on Thursday and Friday until it was fully gone on Friday late afternoon. So my body is back in the optimum temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius. Because of that, I did not go back to school. Well I was basically resting and mugging.
I went to the RSAF Seminar today. And of course, lots of people were there. I got a handful of in formations about careers in the RSAF. Dad reckons me to consider RSAF, if I am “desperate” to sign on army as career. However, I kind of think otherwise. Firstly, I love the army more than RSAF. Secondly, I HAVE NO INTENTION TO BE A PILOT. Well, most of the people there have the aspiration to be a pilot except for me and some others of course. I went there and ended up hearing the stringent criteria of joining RSAF. Well I am only interested in the AEO; it seems interesting to be an engineer though.
The event was a success and the officers did answer everybody question. There are no problems with RSAF site; they are wonderful in wooing people to join their organization. I must say I am very impressed with one of the officers presentations. However, I was very disgusted by some of the students and other audiences. As you know, after every seminar in a hotel, there will always refreshments served. GUESS WHAT? Some of them actually constantly put the food on their plates. The moment the food is served on the table, basically everyone started “snatching” the food. Well those people did not really give a thought about others. WORST!!!!!I even saw one guy actually swallowing one curry puff, and he went back taking some more food even though his plate was full of curry puffs and tuna sandwiches- I guess that’s his second serving. I mean like HELLO??????? Can’t you just finish the food on your plate before taking your second serving? I took only 2 curry puffs and it takes me about 10-20 minutes just to get that. It’s kind of rude actually… there were also waiter and waitress moving around to take the used plates, but I saw some of them leaving it at a corner. Eventually, the corner became a deposing area, with used tissues and serviettes left there. HORRIBLE!!!! What have I got to say, I am just an ordinary citizen. But I was really disgusted by some of the people there. KIASUISM is perfectly ok, but not to the extent of not showing you’re courteous for others. I think many of us should learn our manners, including me. Sparing a thought for others is always good………..
During the Q and A session, many people raised out many questions. I thought the officers are great and wonderful; they are very good in answering questions, especially the officers representing the RSAF Recruitment centre or scholarship department. However, I think some of the questions that are raised by the students were kind of uncalled for. A student asked is the career in RSAF safe? Definitely, they will assure you it is definitely safe. Well every job involves risk…….no job are always safe. It’s kind of common sense. Do you all get to spend time with family then? Of course it is another dumb question. I don’t know, it’s just not making sense. That’s why; I think the officers are quite smart in answering the question even though some of them are really kind of uncalled for. I was just surprised they did not actually speak much of AEO. It’s understandable; many of them want to be a pilot.
In conclusion, after looking and considering the pros and cons of a career in RSAF. I think RSAF does not really suit me. Well of course it will mean I am not considering of RSAF. I guess there are plenty of careers to look out for too
I am beginning to see god’s work in my family, thank you lord. I guess my prayer is beginning to answer. Going off now take care.
